Occupational Therapist (OT)  - Band 7

This is an exciting opportunity for a Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist to join the North London Forensic Service in working to develop our occupational therapy provision in HMP Brixton. The post holder will work in close liaison with the health and wellbeing service (including the mental health team and neurodevelopmental disorders pathway).

Previous experience of working within prisons or restrictive settings and within adult mental health services is essential together with a willingness to embrace the challenges of working within an environment with a diverse and disadvantaged client group. Strong engagement skills are important, as is the ability to work well with other staff – both the MDT and wider prison staff. The post holder will also hold supervisory responsibility for the band 6 occupational therapist.

The successful applicant will work within a multi-disciplinary team comprising of a range of mental health professionals and will receive regular high-level supervision.
