Barnet Enfield and Haringey Mental Health Trust is a multiple award-winning, combined mental health and community Trust providing local, regional and national healthcare services. We are one of the largest employers in North London with over 3000 staff delivering a range of mental health and community services to a population of over one million.

In Enfield, we provide a full range of child and adult community health services, which over the last few years has been integrating with its mental health services to provide better and more holistic care.

BEH manages the renowned North London Forensic Services (NLFS), rated as 'Outstanding' by the CQC. This service treats and cares for people within the criminal justice system who have mental health conditions. We have also been appointed as the lead provider of forensic mental health services across North London managing the devolved New Models of care budget of £170m from 2018/19. NLFS delivers mental health care across some of the prisons and provides mental health services as HM Young Offenders Institutions in Aylesbury.

We also provide one of the largest eating disorder services in England, as well as drug and alcohol services and mental health liaison services in North Middlesex University Hospitals Trust.

Our values and quality improvement are at the heart of everything we do, please consider joining us.

Band 8a WTE Clinical or Counselling Psychologist in Pain Management

We are a large provider of integrated mental health services in Barnet, Enfield and Haringey and also provide community health services in Enfield. We employ 3,000 staff and serve a population of 1.2 million. We operate services from five main inpatient sites and a further 25 sites in the community. The ambition is for BEH to be an organisation that promotes recovery, social inclusion, and community integration to maximise resilience. We call this Enablement.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 8a Clinical Psychologist to be part of a community-based integrated NHS Pain Management service in the London Borough of Enfield located at the Chase Farm Hospital site. Backed by significant NHS investment and led by Barnet Haringey and Enfield Mental Health Trust, this project is a partnership integrating acute, community and primary care providers and represents the Borough’s largest transformation in care for patients with persistent pain. You will be working for an organisation that houses both physical and mental health services which offers a rare opportunity for these teams to form close working relationships with each other and provide a highly integrated quality service, catering for both physical and mental health needs.

We are looking to welcome a WTE Band 8a psychologist who is ready to develop their leadership capability, is innovative as well as data driven and will lead the psychology contribution to the MDT. The project is entering its second year so we are looking for someone with strong service development skills who can implement the learning from the first year and develop the next phase. We have undergone some rapid transformation as a result of COVID-19. We have designed and are beginning to deliver pain management interventions via digital platforms. We also have vacancies for Band 7 psychologists who will work closely alongside the Band 8.

You will be part of a close knit multi-disciplinary team providing one to one work with pain patients as well as a Pain Management Programme. You will be part of a larger team of over 50 psychologists in the Borough with regular CPD and development events. A background in physical health psychology or pain management would be an advantage. Candidates with experience in group interventions will also be welcomed.
