Staff Nurse - Band 5

The North London Forensic Service, based at Chase Farm Hospital site which has been rated outstanding by the CQC, provides inpatient services to North Central London of both medium and low secure forensic care, including a women’s service and learning disabilities.

In addition, services are provided in the community, including a 24-bed low secure unit and a range of forensic community services including assertive outreach teams, court diversion and in-reach to local prisons

The service has set up a new 12 bedded Low Secure Learning Disabilities Ward at Chase Hospital.

Are you an enthusiastic Learning Disabilities Nurse or Mental health looking for an opportunity to develop your career in nursing within the specialism of Forensic Mental Health and Learning Disabilities Services and do you meet the following minimum criteria?

As part of well-being initiative, we have a multi-gym, a full size indoor basketball court on site which staff can use free. We also have a tennis court which we encourage staff to use with patients. We also have mindfulness and Circuit training for staff.

  • RMN/RNLD qualification
  • Final year Mental health Nursing student
  • Final year Learning Disability Student
  • Ability to effectively run a shift on the ward showing leadership and effective team working
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to negotiate and influence
  • Able to make balanced judgements and decisions
  • Able to work under pressure while remaining calm and maintaining quality
  • Has a flexible and creative approach to problem solving
  • Is physically fit and able to complete PMCB mandatory training
