We have an exciting opportunity for a Highly Specialist Clinical / Counselling Psychologist / Family & Systemic Psychotherapist at Band 8a with experience of working in adult mental health settings, to join our new Rehabilitation Service which will be situated in Somerset Villa on the Chase Farm site in Enfield.

Somerset Villa is a 13 bedded Unit offering rehabilitation assessment & treatment service which is an integral part of the local adult mental health care pathway working in partnership with key stakeholders.

Somerset Rehabilitation Service provides a range of skills based and social inclusion oriented interventions aimed at enabling individuals to regain functioning in key aspects of their live and to manage their physical and mental health needs. Individuals are supported to develop skills and confidence to face the challenges of stigma and (re) integrate into their local communities and participate in their social networks and with their families.

You will be part of a specialist multidisciplinary team who will provide intensive input to service users developing individualised care programmes to prepare service users for successful step down to a range of accommodation & supported housing in the community. The principles of coproduction & delivery of Values Based Practice are key to the delivery of the service.

The successful applicant in Enfield will have a pivotal role in developing this new post and in delivering Psychological and Systemic informed interventions. This post needs a Psychological Therapist who is familiar with using a range of Psychological models including Positive Behaviour Support, CBT (including CBT-p, ACT and specific CBT-appropriate difficulties), Systemic interventions for psychosis and/or open dialogue.  You will be supported and receive supervision from the well-established Psychological therapies service in Enfield.

As a team Psychological Therapist you will be able to work flexibly and innovatively alongside other team members and Experts by Experience. The role also involves providing supervision, formulation, consultation and supporting MDT colleagues to develop their competencies in applying psychological ways of working with service users and their carers. You will also be expected to take a role in service evaluation and audit and to contribute to service development. Enthusiastic and adaptable, you need to enjoy working both independently and collaboratively as part of a diverse team.  You will need to have substantial knowledge and skills in providing a range of PBS, CBT and FI interventions and also have an interest in providing teaching and supervision to your MDT colleagues.

The catchment area of the borough has good transport links and has an ethnically diverse population with pockets of high social deprivation and need, as well as affluent areas. You will join a group of Psychologists working in other community based teams in Enfield which are professionally led by a Lead Psychologist. You will be well supported with supervision from a Senior Clinical Psychologist and Systemic Psychotherapists and there is regular access to CPD in forums such as in-house and external training courses.
