Barnet Enfield and Haringey Mental Health Trust is a multiple award-winning, combined mental health and community Trust providing local, regional and national healthcare services. NLFS delivers mental health care across some of the prisons and provides mental health services as HM Young Offenders Institutions in Aylesbury.

We also provide one of the largest eating disorder services in England, as well as drug and alcohol services and mental health liaison services in North Middlesex University Hospitals Trust.

Occupational Therapy and Therapies Lead - Band 8a

Are you an experienced Occupational Therapist looking to advance your career to the next level? If so then join us in Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust, Haringey Division as we continue our journey towards providing outstanding mental health services to the Haringey community.

Blossom Court will open in summer 2020, a mental health building that will replace the current wards at St Ann’s Hospital with a brand new, state-of-the-art facility, which will be amongst the best in the country.

We are looking for a dedicated, dynamic and innovative Occupational Therapy and Therapies Lead to provide strategic, professional and clinical leadership to allied health professions across Haringey division including Occupational Therapists, Art Therapists, Music Therapists, Drama Therapists, Dieticians and Speech and Language Therapists

Job summary

  • Responsibility for ensuring that all Therapies staff working in Haringey mental health division provide effective assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care that meets professional and organisational quality standards.
  • Set and monitor standards and policies ensuring a high standard of care is delivered in accordance with agreed protocols and evidence based practice.
  • Work with Haringey senior leaders and the Trust’s AHP Lead to direct changes to professional practice and ways of working to improve quality whilst saving money.
  • Member of the Senior Management Team having input into planning, developing and evaluating clinical services across the division.
  • Contribute to the strategic development of AHP services working closely with the Trust’s AHP Lead to deliver the Trust’s Allied Health Professions Strategy.

This is an exciting time to be joining Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health Trust to support the Trust’s AHP Lead in raising the profile of AHPs and driving forward the national Allied Health Professions agenda.
