Deputy Team Manager. 0.4 Part Time (Job Share)

The Haringey Early Intervention in Psychosis Team are seeking to recruit a Band 7 Specialist Practitioner/Deputy Manager,(Nurse, Social Worker or Occupational Therapist) to join our team as a Community Early Intervention Practitioner. We are looking for a 0.4 to work with our existing Band 7 Deputy as a Job Share.

Our team provide a range of specialist mental health interventions to people aged 18-65 with symptoms of a first episode of psychosis living in the Borough of Haringey. We have a cohesive and well-supported multidisciplinary team including Nurses, Doctors, Social Workers, Systemic Family Therapists, Psychologists a Dual Diagnosis Worker and a Cognitive Analytical Therapist. We also have a full time IPS employment worker. The team oversees the care co-ordination of adults for 3 years following onset of psychosis. The majority of our clients are younger people they may be experiencing a first episode of psychosis and be presenting for the first time to mental health services.      

Whilst we adhere to the principles of the Care Programme Approach and aim to provide a high standard of care co-ordination we also have recovery orientated projects and groups. Our social inclusion program includes a variety of events and courses that the team work together to produce. We are working towards a Team Approach and the use of Open Dialogue and relational principles in our work. We promote partnership working and have established good working relationships with other organisations, individuals, carers and service users.    

The majority of our team have been recruited in the last 24 months and we are all substantive post holders. There is a commitment to developing the team and learning from each other and our service users.   We are committed to delivering interventions in line with NICE guidelines for psychosis and a high level of model fidelity to the Early Intervention in psychosis model. New staff will be offered training in core EI interventions. We are currently planning a 2 day Trust Wide EI training session. The physical wellbeing of clients is actively promoted including regular health assessments, liaison with primary care and engagement with team and community sports groups. We have an active bike recycling scheme that is open to all staff and service users at our centre              

Barnet Enfield and Haringey Mental Health Trust is a large employer with a number of opportunities for staff to develop their special interests. We have a well-established KSF/PDP programme and an involvement in clinical fieldwork education. We also have a commitment to evidence based practice supported by internal and external training. Consideration will be given to those with extensive psychosis and/or community experience pre-registration or during training, if they have not completed two years post registration practice
