Physical Health Lead Nurse - Band 6
This is a new and exciting opportunity for a Band 6 RGN nurse with at least 12 months experience and /or with experience in criminal justice or forensic nursing to be an integral part of our multi-disciplinary mental health team at HMP Pentonville across both the Inpatient and Inreach team. The post holder will be leading on the PH care for both services and provide support and expertise advice to a MH group of worker and nursing staff.
HMP Pentonville is a busy local remand category B prison within north London with a high turnover and an operational capacity of 1300 spaces.
We have a 22 bedded inpatient unit which cares for men with both physical and psychological ill health and an inreach team with an average caseloads 100. As such you will be working in a fast paced environment with often complex and vulnerable service users. The team embraces a health and well-being stepped model of care and the successful applicant will assist in caring for those who present with both mental illness and physical health and then to consider appropriate care pathways and follow up. The successful applicant will need to be a skilled nurse, flexible in approach and confident in their practice.
You will benefit from accessing both the Prison Healthcare Services and Beh MH Trust training programme for your CPD.

Applications from job seekers who require Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) requires employers to complete this test to show that no suitably qualified EEA or EU worker can fill the post. For further information please visit the UKVI website. From 6 April 2017, Tier 2 skilled worker applicants, applying for entry clearance into the UK, must present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years. Adult dependants (over 18 years old) will also be subject to this requirement. Guidance can be found here Criminal Records Checks for Overseas Applicants.
